Few words send chills down a ponies spine like Shadow Magic. This dark, dangerous branch of magic, discovered and perfected by Strange Tidings, is often seen as "Too evil for everyday use". It is used scarcely as a result.

Shadow Magic allows ponies to pull off any number of things: Enchant their spells, adjust the rules of combat, change their form, and even unleash powerful attack spells that puts the Thunder Ponies to shame. The two most notable attributes about Shadow Magic is that it's users are given a "Shadow From", which they can transform into to boost their powers beyond belief, and the ultimate offensive spell, "Giga Blast", which is said to be able to level entire cities more effectively then an atomic bomb! While this magic is extremely powerful, the user risks the destruction of their soul if it is overused, so it is often saved for emergencies by those brave enough to learn it.

Ponies who wish to learn Shadow Magic must react Level 50 in their primary school of focus, as well as have completed HoovenStrum's "Master" course.
