The dormitory building serves to provide living space for the students of HoovenStrum. The building itself is divided up into different sections for each of the schools five age groups. The exact capacity of the dormitories is unknown, although the most students it's ever had at once is 2,876.

The dormitory building, besides providing the basic restrooms and bathhouse, provides the basics for single living within each dorm room. The dormitories themselves are coed, meaning that guards have to be stationed outside the building to deal with any issues that crop up.

A common room is provided for ponies who wish to hang out with their friends at the dormitories, or to study together during homework time.

Rumors claim that dorm room #666 is cursed, or haunted, having a reputation for housing many Darkness ponies who have committed terrible crimes against the island in the past. Many more claim that Strange Tidings himself cursed the room. Granted, there's no actual evidence to back up these outlandish claims.
